Chipmunk Visions Again

Me again. Friday morning, I had a really weird dream. 'Bout the Chipmunks and a non-existent movie.

Alvin somehow got caught up in a world war. He had to get back to somewhere I don't remember, so he was in that really corny, predictable plot with him doing all sorts of predictable action anime and war movie stunts like jumping on active missiles, stealing army machines, that kind of thing.

Then he got captured by Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean and a bunch of other pirates. Then there was this huge battle, then there was this field of flowers. Then I woke up.

Pretty weird, huh...?

Writing Advice

I don't know why, but I felt like a change of font today.

At any rate, I have some advice for writers everywhere.

Tip 1: Before you even begin writing, know who your characters are. In
and out. Through and through. There is nothing more AGGRAVATING than
trying to figure out what Alan would say to Pete if Pete dropped potato
salad on Alan's new shoes. Know what they like, know how they work, know
what they look like, and know where they live.

Tip 2: If you're writing your story and you've got writer's block, but you want to keep writing, don't force anything and do some editing. If you're editing, don't know what to change, but don't want to stop writing, just do some free writing or advancing your story.

Tip 3: Read and watch stuff in your genre range. Notice I said 'range'
and didn't just say 'genre.' You know, stuff that's close to your subject. For instance, if you write fantasy,
check out sci-fi, mystery, adventure, mythology, and comedy (fantasy and comedy
go great together :) ) If you write horror, look for fantasy, mystery, mythology stuff. Contemporary? Comedy, adoption, drama, special needs, mystery, and romance (I hate this genre, personally, but I figured I'd put it out there, anyway...)

Yeah, 'kay. That's pretty much it. That's what I do, anyway.

Oh, yeah, and if you are doing a
more psychological type of story, I beg of you, PLEASE do extensive
research. There is nothing more devastating and terrible for the
psychologically stressed or challenged community than to further
incorrect, harmful, and insulting stigma about persons with special
needs or in special circumstances. Not only will your info be
more accurate if you do multi-source research, you could easily
introduce a theme and easily set a lifestyle for your character based on whatever thing you choose. But above all, in my opinion, your
characters become more memorable.

Harry Potter and the Half Baked Prince

WARNING!!! HARRY POTTER MOVIE SPOILERS!!!

Okay, so yesterday I saw the Half Blood Prince...

I couldn't possibly describe how much they messed up. It wasn't a magical movie with a little bit
of romance. It was a romance movie with a little bit of magic! There was way, way too much
lovey-dovey, mushy, gross stuff, a lot of it which wasn't in the book at all. Some things I understand, like how they had to get Harry and Ginny together in the Room of Requirement.
The book's way would have taken too long. Although effective in showing Harry's... ahem...
longing for her, he and Ginny didn't have such prominent run-ins.

Plus, Hermione never liked McLaggen in the book. Harry, Ron, and Hermione
ABSOLUTELY did NOT climb Borgin and Burke to spy on Malfoy. Ginny, until they
finally did get together, showed no obvious signs of feelings for Harry in the book.
The Burrow was NOT attacked by the Death Eaters! I don't even know where they got that
idea... -.-'
And why was Harry in a cafe when he first showed up? Hitting on some waitress? Was this in
some hidden never-before-seen edition of HBP that I've never heard of? Or maybe some
invisible print in the original printed versions?
No?
Then what the heck was he doing?! What were the movie makers doing?! This book is not
like others! It's beyond other books! So they don't have to dumb down HP on the big screen!
On a last bad thought, it felt like a "Best of Harry Potter" vid; it was so abrupt in scene changes.

On the good side of this, Sir Michael Gambon truly disappeared into the Dumbledore role
in this movie. The effects were swingin'. The scene with Katie Bell was amazing. The Quidditch matches were awesome! I'm glad they didn't change the music too much this time; they
pulled that a lot in the last movies.

If I were a movie reviewer (which I'm not and I don't own anything from HP in anyway), I'd give this movie...

A 5/10... Yeah, it wasn't bad... but it wasn't that good either. They messed up.

Art Fair

On that day of the Kid's Art Fair, I made brought some manga to sell, with the help of my family, of course. I sold a total of 5/5, signed two of them, and sold a picture of a shojo character I drew. Did I make any money? Psh, yeah! I'm a little confused how much I made actually...

So last night, I was up 30 to 45 minutes later than I was supposed to be, brainstorming about what the title of the next novel in my trilogy should be. As usual, I came up with zilch.

What're the titles of my stories? Well, the book is called 'Am I Real?' and the manga is called
'Axolotl,' both in which you have to read for a while to figure out why the titles are what they are.

Have you ever heard that song 'Planet Net' by those same people who sung the opening theme for Code Lyoko? Yeah, about those words... Nothing obscene or anything like that but... Those are
some of the cheesiest lyrics I have EVER heard. The theme song, too. But the instruments had great tunes cranking out though.

On the subject of cheesy... The Dark is Rising: The Seeker?!

Missing twin brother?! Random love interest?! Loser older brothers?! COME ON!!! They weren't even English like they were in the book! The book was good! The movie was NOTHING like the book! The plot was bad, the actors were bad (except for the Rider), the beginning was bad, the end was bad, the middle was bad. I could go on for so long, I crash this computer. But it was BAD. If you want to see it, wait until it comes on TV. Unless you've got money to burn. Poor Susan Cooper... :(

Do. Not. Buy. Read. The. Book.

Of course, that's just my opinion... Like as you wish...-_- .......................... I wanna see UP.......

First Posting

Today, I created my blog. Yay for me... -.-

I've decided to post the genres of my stories in progress and I might, just might, post some character descriptions, and later, some of my stories.

The novel I'm writing is a fantasy-psychodrama (gee, I love the way that sounds!).
The manga I'm creating is an adventure-comedy.

I slept extra late today, and I had a dream that they were going to come out with, I don't know,
five other Chipmunk movies. One featuring Brittany and the Chipettes, one with some astronaut chipmunk, one with some scientist, one with some nature guy, and one more with the original Chipmunks. I don't remember what the other one was.

A few seconds ago, my computer autosaved at 10:44 pm... at 10:43. Weird.

Well, that's it.
